About Us Cedar Creek Lodge & Lake Center is part of the Deadwood Land & Cattle Company which is situated on over 2,000 acres in the piney woods of East Texas. Just 20 minutes from Carthage, Texas, Deadwood is a multi-generational community that claims to be, "The Home of 108 Happy People and 1 Ol' Grouch!" And we're not telling who the grouch is.
After over 40 years as a distinguished oil and gas attorney in Oklahoma and Texas, Clayton La Grone returned to his East Texas roots and decided to spend his semi-retirement years in the quiet beauty of the ranch that has been in his family since his ancestors settled here in 1832. Since returning to the East Texas area, Clayton has been involved in various local and church activities and is a prominent member of the community. Clayton and his wife Sidna then formed Deadwood Land & Cattle Co. As the company's CEO and President, Clayton's simple vision of a farming and ranching business soon turned into a successful wildlife management and outdoor recreation operation. In partnership with the Texas Department of Parks & Wildlife, The Wild Turkey Federation, and Ducks Unlimited, the property has become known for the quality of habitat for its wild game, fishing, and duck ponds. The property has grown to include
a Lodge, two smaller cabins, and a Lake Center. The newly constructed
Lake Center was an idea born out of Clayton's many years of attending
various legal and community events. The property was ideal for
such a building and the view was magnificent. And, so far, we have
never had an unsatisfied customer. People and businesses alike
enjoy what the Lake Center has to offer. |
